Both the Fox drama and the ABC reality series rise from the previous week's dips against the Grammys.
The X-Files ended on a lifted note for Fox, though it could not top The Bachelor — settling for tying with the latter as broadcast's highest-rated series of the night. The finale of the six-episode event series boasted an average 2.4 rating among adults 18-49, three-tenths of a point improvement from the previous week's same-day low against the Grammys, and 7.6 million viewers.
Fox's latest episode of the series rose to a 3.2 rating in the key demo with live-plus-three day lifts, and the series is averaging a 4.5 rating with seven days of DVR. Lucifer only managed to hold steady with the boosted lead-in, swinging a same-day 1.6 rating with adults 18-49 for Fox.
The Bachelor rose three-tenths of a point on ABC to match its season high 2.4 rating in the key demo, partnered with an also-boosted episode of Castle (1.1 adults).
CBS' trio of dramas all lost a little steam in their return from the Grammy hiatus, with Supergirl (1.5 adults) and NCIS: Los Angeles (1.3 adults) losing three-tenths of a point and Scorpion (1.7 adults) dropping four-tenths.
Comedies Superstore (1.4 adults) and Telenovela (0.9 adults) signed off on NBC, each up two-tenths of a point from the previous episode. It marks a solid end to a very solid run for Superstore, which outshined its freshman time slot neighbor at every turn. This especially soft season for The Biggest Loser wrapped with a 1.2 rating among adults 18-49, rebounding from the Grammy-induced lows.
Both Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (0.4 adults) and Jane the Virgin (0.3 adults) held steady on the CW.
