Sarah Michelle Gellar may be showing us her cruel intentions once again.
After NBC ordered a pilot for a sequel series to the 1999 hit movie Cruel Intentions, Us Weekly Video caught up with the movie's star, who couldn’t be more excited that the characters are going to be reintroduced.
Columbia Pictures/Courtesy Everett Collection“I think its awesome. I think there are so many great stories to tell. Jordan [Ross] and Lindsey [Rosin] did a great job with the Cruel Intentions musical — it was phenomenal,” Gellar, who was hosting a Swiffer event in New York City, told us. “Roger Kumble [who wrote and directed the film] is at the helm, and anything Roger does is great. And they are great characters, so why shouldn’t their story be told?”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the pilot picks up 15 years after the movie left off and centers around the teenage son of Sebastian (Ryan Phillippe) and Annette (Reese Witherspoon). Gellar’s character Kathryn aims to take control of Valmont International.

While Gellar said she's a "little too old" to play the sexed-up prep school version of Kathryn from 1999, she isn't completely ruling out reprising the scandalous role.
“I don’t know,” she said. “Never say never.”
