Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson are taking on MTV.

The duo, who co-star in the upcoming film Central Intelligence, are set to co-host the 2016 MTV Movie Awards, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

This year's telecast marks the 25th anniversary of the first MTV Movie Awards and will take air on Sunday, April 10 on the cabler. For the first time ever, the entire show will film outdoors on the Warner Bros. backlot -- the same location where Fox's Grease: Live filmed outdoors last month despite less-than-ideal weather conditions. The ceremony will be filmed the day prior, with performers and presenters to be announced at a later date.

"It's an honor to be hosting the MTV Movie Awards with a guy who's not only one of the funniest guys on the planet, but who's often mistaken as my twin, Kevin Hart,” Johnson said in a statement. “We live for our fans and promise to make this an epic, historic unforgettable night for them."

Added Hart: "I love hosting - it's my thing. Dwayne and I are the perfect team for the epic 25th anniversary show. It's going to go down.”

The announcement comes ahead of what is likely to be another banner year for both Johnson and Hart, who are coming off several 2015 box office hits. Johnson had San Andreas, for which a sequel is officially in the works, and Hart had The Wedding Ringer, Get Hard and just released Ride-Along 2 last month. Upcoming projects for Johnson include the second season of HBO football comedy Ballers, the highly anticipated Baywatch movie. Hart has another season of BET comedy Real Husbands of Hollywood as well as the What Now stand-up film based on his successful comedy tour.

Last year, Amy Schumer served as emcee just months ahead of her comedy Trainwreck scored big at the box office, in addition to her September Emmy win for her Comedy Central series.

Casey Patterson and Garrett English will exec produce the 2016 MTV Movie Awards, alongside co-exec producers Lee Lodge, Jane Mun, and Jim Roush. Wendy Plaut will serve as co-executive producer and executive in charge of celebrity talent.  Sandy Alouete will be the executive in charge of music talent.
