The untitled comedy hails from 'Red Oaks' writer Laura Steinel.
Judy Greer is ready for her next small-screen gig.
The actress, fresh off two seasons of FX comedy Married, has been tapped to star in Fox's untitled human resources comedy pilot, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The single-camera comedy centers around Jane, who is caught between trying to manage her charmingly incompetent human resources department and a new eccentric CEO who dreams of bringing the New Jersey plastics plant into the future.
Greer will take on the leading role of Jane, who is described as the over-used and under-appreciated head of HR for a plastic molding plant, where her new boss is changing the direction of the company and continually making her job more difficult.
The comedy — one of multiple offers the actress had this pilot season — marks Greer's latest small-screen role following a guest turn on CBS' Mom as well as Showtime's Masters of Sex and her voice work in FX comedy Archer. Her credits include Mad Love, Love & Money, Miss Guided and features Ant-Man, Jurassic World, Entourage, Tomorrowland and more. She next has features War for the Planet of the Apes, Wilson, Measure of a Man and All We Had. She's represented by CAA, Principato-Young and attorney Fred Toczek.
Laura Steinel (Red Oaks) will pen the script for the pilot and co-exec produce. The 20th Century Fox Television comedy will be exec produced by Naegle Ink's Sue Naegle and The League's Jeff Schaffer, the latter of whom is attached to direct the pilot.
