James Corden will host the 2016 Tony Awards, it was announced on Tuesday.

The announcement was made on Twitter via the “Late Late Show” account, which tweets, “Look who’s hosting @TheTonyAwards!” Accompanying the tweet was the photo of Corden seen at right.

In a statement, Corden says, “I’m absolutely thrilled to be hosting the Tony Awards. Both times I’ve worked on Broadway have been amongst the happiest times of my professional life. I consider it to be a huge honor to be asked to host such an incredible night. It’s going to be fun; I can’t wait to dust off my tap shoes!”

Corden won the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play for One Man, Two Guvnors in 2012. The British star has hosted a number of awards shows in his native U.K. For nearly a year now, he’s been winning over American audiences as the host of the “Late Late Show.”

As Tonys host, Corden is taking the reins from last year’s co-hosts, Alan Cumming and Kristin Chenoweth. Previous hosts include Hugh Jackman and Neil Patrick Harris. The 2016 Tonys will take place on June 12 and air live on CBS. Gossip Cop will have full coverage.
