Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie are officially divorced, nearly a year after she first filed legal documents to end their marriage.
As Gossip Cop has reported, the former couple, who wed in 2010, separated back in January of 2014. But it wasn’t until February of 2015 that Duff filed her divorce petition. The actress cited “irreconcilable differences” as the official reason for the split.
Now, per the divorce agreement, neither star will pay spousal support, but Duff had to give Comrie a one-time payout of $2.4 million. They will share custody of their son Luca, 3, and that includes sharing child care costs as well. Duff is hanging on to their Beverly Hills mansion, as well as their stake in a mobile home in Malibu, while Comrie is making off with two cars and some jewelry.
Since Duff and Comrie’s split, Gossip Cop has corrected a number of false reconciliation rumors. In fact, the last untrue claim came out just last August, months after Duff filed for divorce. As Gossip Cop has repeatedly noted, the two have simply agreed to remain friends and co-parent their little boy.
Duff herself said as much during an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” just last week. “We are good friends and we laugh a lot, and we have a great communication,” she said of Comrie, adding, “He’s great, we’re great, and we keep on trucking.”
