Pivot/Sky Atlantic's Fortitude has set its season two cast.
Set to star in the Arctic thriller's second season are Dennis Quaid, Game of Thrones' Michelle Fairley, The Blacklist's Parminder Nagra, Robert Sheehan (Misfits) and Ken Stott (The Missing). They join returning cast members Sofie Gråbøl (The Killing), Richard Dormer (Game of Thrones), Luke Treadaway (Unbroken), Darren Boyd (Stan Lee’s Lucky Man), Björn Hlynur Haraldsson (The Borgias), Mia Jexen (Happiness), Alexandra Moen (Strike Back), Verónica Echegui (The Cold Light of Day), Sienna Guillory (Stan Lee’s Lucky Man) and Ramon Tikaram (Jupiter Ascending).
Season two's brand-new story will see the Arctic town of Fortitude gripped by explosive events, including a fresh murder that rocks the community and plunges it into turmoil. Details on the new cast members' roles are being kept under wraps.
Fortitude is created, written and executive produced by Simon Donald; Hettie Macdonald directs. Patrick Spence, Faye Dorn and Frith Tiplady executive produce for Fifty Fathoms/Tiger Aspect. Jeff Skoll and Chris Loveall executive produce for Pivot. Anne Mensah and Lizzie Gray serve as executive producers for Sky Atlantic. The drama, which will air in the fall on Pivot and Sky Atlantic, is co-produced by Sky/Participant Media with Sky Vision overseeing international distribution.
