The Democratic presidential candidate is set to appear the next episode of Saturday Night Live, hosted by his frequent impersonator Larry David, according to a Washington Post report, citing sources.
An SNL rep declined to comment.
This marks Sanders' first time on the late-night variety show, and David's first time hosting. After a rough, and short-lived, stint on the writing staff of Saturday Night Live, David has made an applauded return to the show playing Sanders in various sketches.
Sanders and David's possible on-screen meeting mimics the 2008 election cycle when Tina Fey finally appeared alongside vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin after Fey had earned rave reviews for her impersonation of the former governor of Alaska.
It's been a busy week for Sanders. He finished a close second to Hillary Clinton in the Iowa caucus before facing off Clinton in a town hall on Wednesday and a debate on Thursday. The two are next schedule to go up against each other in the New Hampshire primary on Tuesday, where Sanders is currently ahead in the polls.
At the CNN Town Hall Wednesday, Sanders responded positively when asked about David's impression, saying, "I am Larry David."
