'American Idol' leads broadcast, as the Big Four face big competition from the GOP debate.
Mirroring Wednesday night, and facing cable competition from the GOP debate on Fox News, Thursday brought a mix of repeats and originals on the broadcast networks — and another win for American Idol.
The exiting Fox reality show, still holding week to week, averaged a 2.3 rating among adults 18-49 and 8.8 million viewers.
Its biggest competition came from CBS, although the network aired mostly repeats. Angel From Hell (1.4 adults) and Elementary (1.1 adults) were the network's lone original outings.
NBC offered the stateside debut of You Me and the Apocalypse. It fared better than Heroes Reborn had been doing in the 8 p.m. time slot, though its 1.2 rating among adults 18-49 was hardly gangbusters. The Blacklist (1.6 adults) and Shades of Blue (1.3 adults) remained steady.
The CW saw the second episode of Legends of Tomorrow dip only a little from last week's premiere. It averaged a 1.1 rating in the key demo and 2.8 million viewers. The 100 (0.6 adults) held steady.
On ABC, the Beyond the Tank ticked up to a 1.1 rating among adults 18-4 — while My Diet Is Better Than Yours continued to hover around a 0.7 rating.
