Selena Gomez is NOT “crushing” on Seth Rogen to “get back” at Justin Bieber, despite a ridiculous report. Gossip Cop can bust the sensational claim.

On Tuesday, the first trailer for Neighbors 2 was released. The sequel again stars Seth Rogen, and Gomez has a small role. And in celebration of the preview’s debut, Gomez tweeted, “Seth Rogen is hot. #Neighbors2,” along with with a link to and embed of the trailer.

That was all it took for HollywoodLife to declare Gomez has “developed quite the hots for the actor” and is “trying to get under” her ex’s “skin” by “revealing her crush on Justin’s nemesis.” The fan-fiction writers babble on about how Rogen “isn’t on such good terms” with Bieber, so when “Sel expressed her feelings for Seth on Twitter, things certainly got interesting!”

“Could Selena be flaunting her obsession to get back at JB?” asks the webloid. No. She’s promoting a movie and being silly. But the irrational sensationalists insist, “Selena didn’t elaborate on Seth, but her short and sweet message definitely got the point across… Sel’s crushin’ on Justin’s enemy.” Again: No. She’s playfully teasing their comedy.

Of course, the piece also includes baseless speculation that Bieber “can’t be too happy to hear that his former love is now into someone who had such strong feelings against him,” as the site wonders if “Sel’s ‘hot’ tweet about Seth” is “revenge” for Bieber spending time with Hailey Baldwin. The report ends with a total about-face, however, as the outlet flip-flops and writes, “Then again, Justin may have been the last thing on Selena’s mind when she posted her tweet.”

Huh?! Oh, that’s right. HollywoodLife just wanted to make it seem like Gomez “professed her love” to (the, ahem, married) Rogen to manipulate Google and entice readers to click. What actually amuses Gossip Cop is the repeated references to “Sel,” as if the site is actually on a personal, nickname-basis with the singer. Remember: This is the same outlet Gomez has said is “never true” and is actually “the worst.” Enough said.
