The casting comes weeks after Mr. Robot's triumphant showings at the Golden Globe awards and the Critics Choice awards. Slater and the series won at the former, while Slater, Malek and the series took home trophies at the latter.

Gummer most recently starred on Halle Berry's CBS series Extant for two seasons. She next appears in HBO's Confirmation, as well as the Amazon period drama Good Girls Revolt in the iconic role of Nora Ephron. She is repped by CAA and Anonymous Content.
