Jamie Foxx was NOT wearing a wedding ring at Sunday’s Golden Globes, despite a ridiculous and purely speculative webloid report that claims the band means he and Katie Holmes are secretly married. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this story. We’re told it’s “absolutely not true.”

Foxx showed up to the 2016 Golden Globe Awards with a band on his left ring finger, while Holmes had on a ring on her own finger last month. And so according to MediaTakeOut, the two must have gotten married. The site provides no other evidence to support its claim. Some other equally disreputable outlets have falsely claimed they’re each wearing engagement rings, but neither allegation is true.

Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for Foxx, and we’re assured that the actor has NOT married Holmes, nor should the ring he wore to the awards show be interpreted as a wedding band or sign of an engagement. The actor was wearing a piece of jewelery to an awards show, and it’s as simple as that. We’re told the the webloid’s report is “absolutely not true,” which isn’t surprising, considering it’s MediaFakeOut.

MTO is the same webloid Gossip Cop corrected in June 2013 for falsely alleging Foxx had “secretly married” the mother of his 21-year-old daughter Corinne. Conveniently, the site makes no mention of that marriage now, even though it’s new report, taken with the old, would make Foxx a polygamist. But this new Foxx marriage claim is just as false as the previous one. Foxx and daughter Corinne, who served as this year’s Miss Golden Globe, are pictured above at an after-party.
