“Grease: Live!” aired on FOX on Sunday, and Gossip Cop has several highlights from the three-hour live production. Watch the video of the best performances below.
As Gossip Cop noted, the TV adaptation from the original Broadway musical, starred Julianne Hough as good girl Sandy, who had a summer romance with bad boy Danny Zucker. The two thought it was pretty much over until unexpectedly Sandy’s parents decided not to return to Utah and she ended up at Rydell High with Zucker, the leader of the greaser gang the T-Birds.
Among the highlights was one of the musical’s first numbers, “Summer Nights,” in which Sandy and Danny sing about their summer love sadly coming to an end. Another standout was Sandy’s solo of “Hopelessly Devoted To You.” And naturally, the high dance-off to “Born To Hand Jive” was crowd pleaser, too.
There were several other showstoppers throughout the musical, including “Greased Lightnin’,” performed by the T-Birds, and Joe Jonas rocking out some songs, too. Among the two of the best performances came right at the end of the musical. Those highlights were “You’re The One That I Want,” performed by Sandy, Danny and the rest of the cast, as well as the production’s last song, “We Go Together,” also led by Sandy and Danny and backed by the entire “Grease” cast.
As Gossip Cop reported earlier, joining Hough, Tveit, and Boyz II Men in the “Grease” cast were a number of other musical heavyweights, including Vanessa Hudgens, Carly Rae Jepsen, Carlos PenaVega, Joe Jonas, and Jessie J. Check out the video below of some of the highlights from “Grease: Live!”
