CBS is looking to Team 30 Rock/Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt for its next score.

The network has handed out a pilot order to The Kicker, a multicamera comedy from 30 Rock trio Jack Burditt, Tina Fey and Robert Carlock.

The comedy centers on an oddball athlete who drives his family, friends and strangers insane after he unexpectedly finds himself cut from his professional football team.

Burditt will pen the script and exec produce alongside Fey and Carlock. The comedy hails from Universal Television, where all three producers are under overall deals. It marks a key off-network sale for NBCUniversal-based Universal Television. 3 Arts' David Miner will also exec produce the comedy, which hails from Fey's Little Stranger banner.

The Kicker marks Fey's second pilot order this season. She's also teaming with 30 Rock's Tracey Wigfield for an untitled comedy set up at NBC. Should The Kicker go to series, it would join the trio's Netflix comedy Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

For CBS, meanwhile, The Kicker marks its fifth comedy order of the season. It joins My Time/Your Time, from the How I Met Your Mother creators; Superior Donuts, based on the Tracey Letts play; a family comedy based on Aussie format Upper Middle Bogan; as well as the untitled family comedy starring Kevin James that was picked up straight-to-series.
