A "Star-Crossed" alum is joining "DC's Legends of Tomorrow."
Johnathon Schaech will play Jonah Hex on the new series.
"Legends'" version of Jonah is described as "a true legend of the Old West," and "a morally ambiguous gunslinger with a penchant for danger," according to The CW's character description.
He knows "a thing or two about time travel and the future, but is at home in the Wild West. He’s been battling outlaws and gangs for a while now, and advises the team to be extra careful when they arrive in the small town of Salvation," according to the network.
Jonah Hex will be introduced in Episode 111, and there is the possibility Johnathon will recur on the series.
"Ever since we decided that 'Legends' would involve time travel, we were eager to do a story set in the Old West. But if you’re going to do a story set in the DC Universe version of the Old West, you simply must include Jonah Hex in it. We’re thrilled about bringing another well known, beloved DC character to television," Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim said in a statement.
"DC's Legends of Tomorrow" stars Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter, the man who recruits a misfit group, including Brandon Routh's Ray Palmer/The Atom, and Wentworth Miller's Captain Cold/Leonard Snart, to save the world from Casper Crump's Vandal Savage.
The new series premieres Jan. 21 at 8/7c on The CW.
