One Direction returned to perform on Sunday’s “X Factor UK” season 12 finale, during which they sang their next single “Infinity” and “History.” They also received a tribute from a number of stars, including Danny DeVito and James Corden, before they go on their proposed hiatus. Watch the video below.
Of course, One Direction returning to the “X Factor UK” stage is always a big event, since it was on that show that Simon Cowell came up with the idea to put together Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and now departed member Zayn Malik. The band has been loyal and returned year after year to perform on the singing competition program that launched their massively successful careers. In fact, One Direction was back just four weeks ago to sing their new song “Perfect.”
In 2014, One Direction sang “Where Do Broken Hearts Go” with Ronnie Wood during the “X Factor UK” finale, and in 2013, they performed “Midnight Madness” for that season’s final show.
And while they ended up in third place during the seventh season of “X Factor UK,” they’re now the world’s top musical act. In the spring, after promoting their new album, Made In The A.M., One Direction plans to take an extended hiatus. Check out the video below of One Direction performing “Infinity” and “History” on the season 12 finale of “X Factor UK,” and tell Gossip Cop what you think.
