The Kennedy Center Honors was the only thing going on Tuesday night for the broadcasters.
And CBS' annual airing of one of the country's biggest cultural awards averaged a 0.9 rating among adults 18-49 and 7.5 million viewers, making it the second highest-rated Big Four venture of the night. It trailed its lead-in, a repeat of CSI, and also shed three-tenths of a point in the key demo from last year.
It's an expectedly quiet week for TV, given the holidays, and Monday's Nielsen ratings didn't end up coming until late last night.
The lone two originals, NBC's new comedies Superstore and Telenovela, did expectedly poorer than when they sampled with a Voice lead-in earlier in December. Superstore led at 9 p.m. with a 0.9 rating in the key demo, and Telenovela trailed only slightly with a 0.8 rating.
