“The View” hosts weighed in Wednesday on the feud that has erupted between Jennifer Lawrence and Lindsay Lohan. Watch the debate in the video below!
As Gossip Cop reported, Lawrence joked about Lohan’s substance abuse issues on Monday’s “Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” saying, “I get Lindsay Lohan grade exhaustion, but without any drugs or alcohol.” Lohan later responded to the slam on Twitter, writing that the Oscar-winning actress should act more like Maya Angelou and “learn to support others.”
During the “Hot Topics” segment, Whoopi Goldberg showed the clip of Lawrence’s talk show joke, and asked the panel to comment. “Lindsay Lohan would love a feud with Jennifer Lawrence because she’d be in the news again,” quipped co-host Michelle Collins. But fellow host Raven-Symone, who once roomed with Lohan when the two were up-and-coming actresses, seemed annoyed by the comment.
“I have my connections to Lindsay,” Symone said. “As a celebrity, you’re public domain. Our life gets talked about when we don’t want it talked about or we do.” Symone noted it’s well known Lohan went to rehab for drugs and alcohol, and so it’s fair game to talk about.
But Joy Behar asked, “You don’t think the fact that she’s sort of a pathetic case takes it off the table as a joke?” to which Symone shot back, “She’s not a pathetic case.” Symone added, “She has had problems in her life from family to work… Lindsay has issues.”
Collins went on to admit she found Lawrence’s “exhaustion” comment humorous, but felt the actress didn’t need to throw in the “drugs or alcohol” line. Meanwhile, Paula Faris thought Lawrence went too far altogether, saying, “Where’s the kindness and compassion? One wrong step and that could be you.” Finally, Behar expressed, “This girl is a sad case in my opinion, so I wouldn’t make a joke about her.”
