Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, and John Boyega, the three main cast members of Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, appeared on Thursday’s “Ellen DeGeneres Show” and teased the possible romances featured in the highly-anticipated sequel. See the video below!
Although the sci-fi franchise is best known for its major action sequences, DeGeneres was more interested in whether the movie included a love story between the characters. “The movie comes out tomorrow, so we’re all gonna know anyway, you might as well tell us now,” the talk show host told the trio. She then asked, “Any romance between these characters that we’ll see, and if you lie to me I’ll be mad.”
Isaac, who plays a fighter pilot in the film, said of his character, “I think it’s a very subtle romance that’s happening. You have to just look very closely.” The actor then joked, “I won’t say with which character. Could be a droid.”
As for Boyega, the actor admitted that his character Finn “is not the romantic guy right now,” adding, “He’s always sweating and panting or running. He doesn’t really have time for that.” And Ridley, the movie’s female lead, played coy by teasing, “We shall see.”
DeGeneres took the actress’s comment to be a strong hint at romance, but Ridley then clarified, “No, not necessarily. But it’s exciting to say, ‘We shall see,'” to which the host responded, “We’ll use it as a teaser anyway.”
