Khloe Kardashian had a scary encounter with lions and tigers during a Mexico getaway with Kendall Jenner on Sunday’s “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” Here’s the full recap!
The fifth episode of Season 11, titled “Lions and Tigers and Texts,” opened with Kris discussing with Kourtney the possibility of her getting pregnant at 60-years-old. Kris revealed she was getting her period again as a result of using estrogen cream. She then explained how a friend asked if she was on birth control, to which Kris responded, “Why in the world at 60-years-old would I be on birth control?” Kris revealed that her friend told her, “Because you can still get pregnant.” Kris told Kourtney, “If I am pregnant, I don’t know what I would do!” Kris then called her OB/GYN and asked if it was possible for her to get pregnant at her age, and she was relieved when the doctor told her, “Absolutely not.”
Meanwhile, Kim expressed to Khloe her relief that she had finally signed her and Lamar Odom’s divorce papers, telling her sister, “I feel like you finally are done.” Kim added, “You’re way closer to being over it. Before I thought you were so into it. And I was like, ‘Oh god, here we go.’” But Khloe disagreed, saying, “You mistake my kindness for me going back with someone. You don’t marry someone and then cut them out of their life that easily. I care about Lamar, so I want the best for him.” Khloe further said in a confessional, “I can still love him, but I have to love and let go.”
Khloe told Kris and her boyfriend Corey Gamble that she and Kendall booked a trip to Mexico where they’d visit an animal sanctuary filled with rescued animals, including lions and tigers. “They say it’s really therapeutic to do something around animals,” Kris told her daughter. However, Kris declined the invitation to join them, but Gamble said he’d tag along.
Kylie is gearing up for her first-ever nightclub appearance, which will happen at a club in Canada, but Kris is worried about it. She told her daughter, “I just want you to be on your best behavior. Watch your Ps and Qs,” going on to point out that the drinking age in Canada is 18. And although Kylie assured her mom she wouldn’t be drinking, Kris told her, “I’m just being your mom and saying, be on your best behavior missy.”
Khloe, Kendall and Gamble arrived at the animal sanctuary in Mexico where they first visited some small lion cubs. But they later encountered the full-grown animals that were enclosed behind a large fence. Khloe volunteered to get up close to the adult animals behind the fence, but Kendall and Gamble stayed back. “He’s super nice,” a guide said of one of the tigers, adding, “Of course, he can kill you in 10 seconds.” Several lions and tigers then approached Khloe, who wound up with her back against a fence. Watching on from a secure area, Kendall advised her sister, “Khloe, don’t run,” muttering to herself, “This is insane… Oh my god.” The lions start approaching even closer, but the animal wrangler protectively blocked Khloe with his body. He then safely walked Khloe back outside the gate, and she said in a confessional, “I think I’m one with the animals and I think they feel my love.”
Later on during the car ride home, Khloe and Kendall grilled Gamble about his relationship with their mom. Kendall expressed she was happy he came even though Kris didn’t, and he said that he enjoyed spending alone time with them. But Khloe took the opportunity to ask Gamble a series of questions, starting off with, “What exactly do you do for a living?” Gamble replied, “It’s not about a title. It’s just basically making [stuff] happen in the music industry.” Kendall then asked “How much time do you spend together?,” adding, “I’m just asking, because my dad was always away.” Gamble replied, “I feel like being with your mom is better than being with any chick my age or younger. I think we do more than you younger girls do.” Kendall went on to say in a confessional, “I genuinely think Corey cares about my mom and loves her. My mom’s been through a lot, and to see someone taking care of her and really giving her everything she needs is really great.”
Khloe got an uncomfortable call from Odom at her house even though she had changed her number. Khloe then called up Kris who confirmed that she gave Odom her new number, which infuriated Khloe. “It’s none of her business,” Kim told Khloe. “The fact that she’s even getting involved with [her] kids’ drama is insanity.” Kim added, “She should feel like a piece of [expletive]. Like, this is all her fault.”
Later on, Kim visited Kris’s house where the two spoke with Khloe over the phone. Both Kim and Khloe agreed that Kris was overstepping her boundaries by communicating with Odom “after [Khloe] finally had the balls to divorce him.” Khloe added she was supportive when Kris got divorced from Caitlyn, and wanted the same respect. “You and I need a major break from each other,” an angry Khloe told her mom. “I think we need to be separated.”
The episode ended with Kris meeting up with Gamble, saying, “It’s been the worst day ever.” Kris told her boyfriend that Kim especially had been very “disrespectful” towards her. She added that her kids are blaming her for the situation with Odom, and she “won’t put up with it anymore,” adding, “All I’m trying to do is love everybody and make sure everyone is taken care of.”
