Making late night great again! Though Jon Stewart retired from The Daily Show in August, the former Comedy Central host, 53, has been making the rounds lately in order to get the public’s support for the James Zadroga Act, which reauthorizes health benefits to 9/11 first responders. On Thursday, Dec. 10, Stewart interrupted old cohort Stephen Colbert’s monologue on The Late Show to make a last-minute plea to Congress to pass the act.
2016 Presidential Campaign Swag
But when Stewart begins to make his pitch to Congress, Colbert, 51, is unimpressed, stopping him mid-sentence.
“Boring, sorry Jon,” Colbert declares. “You’ve been out of the game for a while. That’s got no zazz. No one’s going to listen to you unless you … Trump it up a little bit.”
Stewart immediately starts shaking his head, saying he doesn’t want to impersonate the GOP presidential hopeful, who recently made headlines for calling for a ban of Muslims entering the country.
CBS“Face it, Jon,” Colbert adds. “The media won’t pay attention to anything, anything at all, unless you’re Donald Trump. Bring the Trump!”
Stars Who Played the President
Stewart then puts on a giant Trump-esque wig, but Colbert doesn’t think that’s enough to fully transform him into the controversial billionaire. So he asks his staff for some makeup. They give him a bag of Cheeto dust, which he promptly spreads all over Stewart’s face.
This added touch seems to do the trick, and Stewart launches into a Trump-esque rant about the Zadroga Act.
