Krasinski was then greeted on set with a ton of egg nog and news of his own yard sale.
It's the most wonderful time of the year: Christmastime, or when John Krasinski pranks Jimmy Kimmel.
The actor, who is notoriously entwined in a decor war with the late-night host, revealed this year's stunt on Tuesday's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! with a proud smile.
"This is my greatest joy about this year's prank, is that we alternate, and I robbed you of the joy," said Krasinski. "And when I did the prank to you, I remember seeing your eyes saying, 'That's really funny -- I hate you.'"
Krasinski first had a pants-less Santa Claus greet Kimmel at his office window with some snowfall, and then put a festively-dressed reindeer in his dressing room: "That thing crapped all over my bathroom!" said Kimmel.
And while last Thursday's show taped, Krasinski had a crew re-create a North Pole scene in his office, with polar bears, presents and the actor as a life-size nutcracker.
"You went to great lengths, and I do have a little something for you," said Kimmel, as he showed Krasinski his flyers (posted all over town) for a "Celebrity Yard Sale."
But that wasn't all -- Krasinski was then flooded with a slew of egg nog at his seat.
