Masterchef is getting ready for the ultimate “snack”-down.
Judge Gordon Ramsay and pastry chef Christina Tosi are inviting celebrities into the kitchen to battle it out for charity on the first-ever Masterchef Celebrity Showdown. The special edition of the Fox cooking competition is set to air Monday, Jan. 18 at 8 p.m.
The two-hour special will not only test the culinary skills of the celebrity competitors but will also pit previous Masterchef and Masterchef Junior winners and contestants against each other. The four battles are Gigi Hadid vs. Devon Windsor, Terry Crews and Rebecca Crews vs. Boris Kodjoe and Nicole Ari Parker, Kaitlin Doubleday vs. Ta’Rhonda Jones, and Masterchef winners vs. Masterchef Junior season four contestants.
International supermodel Hadid will compete for a charity close to her heart, Global Lyme Alliance, as her mom, Yolanda Foster, is currently fighting Lyme Disease. Her competitor, fellow supermodel Windsor, has chosen St. Louis Children’s Hospital as his charity of choice. Meanwhile, Brooklyn Nine Nine star and World’s Funniest host Crews and his wife, Rebecca, will represent Polaris Project, while The Last Man on Earth’s Boris Kodjoe and wife Nicole’s charity of choice is Sophie’s Voice Foundation.
Empire actresses Doubleday and Jones will go head-to-head for their selected nonprofits, Best Friends Animal Society and the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, respectively. And lastly, Masterchef winners Luca Manfe, Christine Ha and Claudia Sandoval will contend for Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, while season four Masterchef Junior contestants Addison, Amaya and Zac will compete for Food on Foot.
