Drake Bell was arrested in Glendale, California on Monday for suspicion of driving under the influence, Gossip Cop has confirmed. The actor was pulled over by the police around 2 a.m. after they witnessed him driving erratically.
A Glendale Police spokesperson said that Bell was “swerving and speeding after abruptly stopping at a red light.” After Bell was pulled over, police detected the smell of alcohol coming from his car, and so he was issued a field sobriety test, which he failed.
The actor was released a few hours after being booked, and was issued a citation. After the investigation into the matter is completed, authorities plan to present the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office.
Gossip Cop has checked in with a rep for Bell, as well as the Glendale Police Department, for a statement, but have yet to hear back.
The actor hasn’t commented about his arrest on social media either, however shortly after his release, he did retweet photos of fans holding up tickets to one of his upcoming concerts. Bell is best known for starring on the former Nickelodeon show “Drake & Josh,” but has recently embarked on a music career. Gossip Cop will provide updates as this story develops.
