David Letterman and his wife Regina Lasko do NOT have a “troubled marriage,” despite a wholly fabricated tabloid report. Gossip Cop can correct this story. We’re told it’s “not true.”

According to the National Enquirer, the former talk show host and his wife have been spending very little time together since he retired from the “Late Show” earlier this year. A so-called “source” tells the tabloid, “Regina is upset because Dave promised he’d spend his retirement making time for her,” but instead he’s supposedly “going off globe-trotting.” The magazine’s dubious insider adds, “This could be the final nail in the coffin for their marriage.”

Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to Letterman, and we’re told the tabloid’s account of marital issues is simply “not true.” We’re not surprised, however, by the tabloid’s inaccurate report. Gossip Cop busted the Enquirer earlier this year when it claimed that Letterman and his wife were divorcing as soon as he exited the “Late Show.” Obviously, time has proven that story to also be completely untrue.

Prior to the phony divorce story, Gossip Cop corrected the tabloid for wrongly reporting that Letterman was charging his staffers for his farewell party. And before that, we busted the magazine for alleging Letterman had a sex tape. Much like all those tall tales, the tabloid’s new “troubled marriage” story is flat out false.
