Bill Cosby is suing seven of the more than 50 women who have accused him of sexual assault. The comedian filed a defamation lawsuit on Monday, claiming these particular women have made false accusations against him.

The defendants in Cosby’s lawsuit are Tamara Green, Therese Serignese, Linda Traitz, Louisa Moritz, Barbara Bowman, Joan Tarshis and Angela Leslie. The comedian is alleging that these women made “malicious, opportunistic and false and defamatory accusations of sexual misconduct against him.” The suit goes on to attest that all of the litigants “knowingly published false statements and accusations.”

Cosby’s suit is in direct response to the defamation lawsuit brought against him by this same group of women in December 2014. The accusers sued Cosby for defamation after the comedian’s representatives branded them all “liars.” That case is still pending.

As Gossip Cop has reported, Cosby has been hit with numerous sexual assault and defamation lawsuits in the past year. Moritz, for instance, has accused Cosby of sexually assaulting her in a “Tonight Show” dressing room. Model Janice Dickinson, arguably the most high-profile accuser, took legal action against Cosby after the comedian publicly called her a “liar.” Here case is still pending, too. Tell Gossip Cop below what you think about this latest Cosby lawsuit.
