Tamar Braxton was rushed to the hospital before Monday’s “Dancing with the Stars.” Gossip Cop can confirm.
Braxton has been suffering from pneumonia for the last two weeks. It’s unclear what transpired during rehearsals on Monday, but she became sick, and her husband took her for emergency treatment at a Los Angeles hospital. It’s unknown if she will be able to participate in the live broadcast, and the clock is ticking.
Tom Bergeron said at the top of the show, “We don’t have all the information,” and noted even he didn’t know whether she would return to compete.
For this week’s “Dance Duets” theme, Braxton and partner Val Chmerkovskiy were expected to do a rumba with Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess. She and Chmerkovskiy were also tasked with performing a solo routine in a dance style they hadn’t yet done in the competition. Neither star has mentioned the situation on social media.
Earlier this season, fellow contestant Kim Zolciak was forced to withdraw from the ABC ballroom competition after a stroke she suffered prevented her from traveling to Los Angeles in time for the live show. It would seem Braxton risks facing the same fate if isn’t released from the hospital and back on set for the broadcast.
Chmerkovskiy, of course, is the reigning “Dancing with the Stars” champion after winning earlier this year with Rumer Willis. He and Braxton have been one of this season’s most successful couples so far. They are pictured above after last week’s show. Gossip Cop wil have updates.
