Bombshell bride! Sofia Vergara has shared the first look at her stunning wedding dress.
The "Modern Family" star married Joe Manganiello at the Breakers Resort in Palm Beach, Fla., on Sunday, and wowed in a Zuhair Murad couture gown that complemented the lavish festivities.
Sofia has worked with the A-list designer for a number of her past red carpet looks – including the Emmys, Golden Globes and Oscars – and adopted elements of their signature aesthetic for her special day.
Featuring a strapless, heart-shaped neckline with a fitted bodice and 3D embellishments, Sofia's one-of-a-kind number was made with more than just love.
According to Vogue, the piece contains 11 pounds of sequins and six pounds of pearls within its intricate, hand-stitched beading and embroidery, and required more than 1,600 hours of labor to construct.
Aside from the impressive workmanship, the dress is also remarkably efficient.
Murad told the fashion mag that he included a removable outerskirt in his design to make dancing at the reception easier, an element the fun-loving Sofia likely put to good use.
In an interview with People, the actress said she had a specific look in mind that was all about embracing her place in life – and showing off her famous curves.
"Personally, I know that I don't like the natural look that some brides do. I'm 43, I don't really need to look like a virgin getting married," she said. "I want to look sexy. I want to look great. I want to look good and [wear] something that I know is going to look good in pictures."
