Khloe Kardashian covers the December/January issue of Redbook, opening up about both James Harden and Lamar Odom. Check out the photos below!
The star’s interview with the magazine actually took place two weeks before Odom’s hospitalization. She said of her estranged husband, “My biggest wish is for him to be happy. I still have a great deal of love for him. That doesn’t mean I have to be by his side all the time.”
As for Harden, Kardashian addressed bringing him into her very public lifestyle. “Our family brings a different amount of — not fame — attention,” she noted. “Instead of just being known for his talent, he’s now known for being someone’s boyfriend. We’re used to it, but for a person new to this, I’m like: ‘Oh, God. I’m sorry.'”
Kardashian also touched on her relationship with Caitlyn Jenner, saying, “It was difficult for me that Bruce wasn’t honest with me. The transition had nothing to do with it. I love Caitlyn. She still likes us to call her our dad, but it’s hard when, you know, Dad’s now wearing a dress.”
The release of the excerpts on Tuesday comes just hours after Kardashian held the first book signing for Strong Looks Better Naked. The event was her first official appearance since Odom’s health crisis began, and she addressed the situation with reporters. The reality star said the athlete is “doing better every day for sure, which is a blessing, but it’s going to be a long road, and he has to walk that road.”
Kardashian acknowledged that Odom cannot walk on his own, and that he still needs significant cognitive rehabilitation. Of their relationship status, she insisted, “I’m still married for a multitude reasons, but intimacy is not one of them.” She also said he is aware that she’s still dating Harden, and called the release of her book coinciding with the medical emergency “awkward timing.”
