Jordan Smith slayed none other than Beyoncé on “The Voice” Live Playoffs on Monday, receiving a standing ovation. Watch below!
As Gossip Cop has reported, Smith has been one of season 9’s frontrunners since his blind audition. He stunned the coaches with his feminine voice, and sailed through both the Battles and Knockouts. Now he had his first opportunity to perform live.
And, shock of shocks, Smith killed it once again. And he had the honor of doing so in the final slot of the night, closing the show with an unbelievable performance. He received a standing ovation from all four coaches, the only one of the entire two-hour broadcast.
When Carson Daly went to Pharrell to comment, the coach just stood shaking his head. “What can I say?” he asked. “Literally, there is nothing to say except that it’s totally true that God has signed your voice.” Gwen Stefani agreed, saying, “All I can think of is God as well… Thank you. Thank you. That felt so good to hear.”
Daly then told Levine he only had half a minute to speak, and the coach responded, “30 seconds is not enough. He then told his standout contestant, “I don’t even wanna talk about your voice. Before you even went up and performed, and you’re standing up there in the dark and everyone’s cheering for you like crazy. You’re not a singer. You’re a figure.”
“It’s unlike anything I’ve ever, ever experienced in my life,” added Levine, “and I’m just honored to be a part of it.” Check out the video below!
