Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed’s new animal rights campaign was NOT launched to fight rumors about their supposedly troubled marriage, despite a fabricated webloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this story. We’re told it’s “not true.”
The couple recently teamed up with the Humane Society to take a stance against dog fighting. But according to Celeb Dirty Laundry, Somerhalder and Reed have a hidden agenda. Without a single source to back up its allegations, the webloid claims that the two have joined forces with the organization because their “show of unity” is “damage control to fight the divorce rumors and baby battles.”
The website then pushes the same old, inaccurate story about the couple’s marriage supposedly being in trouble because they’re “constantly fighting about having children.” According to the webloid, Somerhalder wants a baby, but Reed would allegedly rather focus on her career. The site’s allegations, however, are completely false and utterly absurd.
Somerhalder and Reed are passionate about animal rights, and have been for years. They’re not pretending to support a cause as a means of showing the public that they have a strong marriage. CDL’s claim is just a shameless attempt to undermine the couple’s good deed.
Gossip Cop has repeatedly corrected the webloid for reporting false stories about Somerhalder and Reed. Typically, the site drags his ex-girlfriend Nina Dobrev into its phony articles to create a nonexistent love triangle. This animal rights approach is different, yet equally wrong. A source close to the couple exclusively tells Gossip Cop that the webloid’s account is simply “not true.”
