Even the most loyal readers of George R.R. Martin's novel series will face difficulty answering some of these questions.

"You know nothing, Jon Snow."

The famous Game of Thrones catchphrase, first uttered by the wildling warrior Ygritte and subsequently adopted by the show's legion of fans, cannot be paraphrased and tossed in the direction of Joe Errington, a marketing executive and self-professed expert on the HBO fantasy series. As it turns out, he knows a lot.

Errington competed on a recent episode of the British quiz show Mastermind, which tasks contestants with answering two rounds of questions — one based on general knowledge, and another on a specific subject of the contestant's choosing.

In Errington's case, he chose George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire, the novel series that Thrones is based on, as his subject of choice, and was tasked with answering a series of incredibly difficult and specific questions about the world of Westeros — questions that casual viewers of the show, and even many die-hard readers of the books, would have trouble mastering.

Watch the clip and see if you know as much about Drowned Gods and Janos Slynt as Errington — or if you're more on the Jon Snow side of the aisle:
