Fetty Wap does not have a warrant out for his arrest, despite a number of inaccurate reports. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct these online claims. Both the Passaic County’s Prosecutor’s Office and a spokesman for the Passaic County police confirm to Gossip Cop it’s not true.
According to a slew of unreliable webloids like HollywoodLife, prosecutors in Passaic County “put out an arrest warrant for the ‘Trap Queen’ singer,” who threatened to “[expletive] up” Lezhae Zeona, the mother of his daughter. The ill-informed blog adds that Fetty Wap could be “taking a detour to a New Jersey jail” because he’s supposedly “wanted by the police.” HollywoodLies, which didn’t even bother to fact-check the claim, simply picked up the report from MediaTakeOut, another bastion of misinformation.
What’s true is that an argument took place between Wap and Zeona that was videotaped and made its way onto the Internet (see below). In the video, Wap and Zeona, who’s seemingly holding a knife, are cursing at each other. He can also be heard saying he’ll “shoot up” something, but it’s a bit unclear. Both are audibly very angry.
Wap appears to have acknowledged that the argument become more heated and contentious than anticipated, having tweeted, “End of the day I ain’t see my daughter In a month so yea I was upset.” That said, despite the claims from HollywoodLies and MediaFakeOut, Gossip Cop has confirmed with the police and the prosecutor’s office in Passaic County that no arrest warrant was issued for Fetty Wap.
