Disclosure and Lorde performed “Magnets” on this week’s “SNL.” The song is one of the singles off the album Caracal from the house-pop duo of brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence. See the video below of Disclosure and Lorde’s performance of “Magnets” on “Saturday Night Live.”
This marks the first time Disclosure and Lorde have ever performed on “Saturday Night Live.” To date, “Magnets” reached number two on Billboard’s Bubbling Hot Under 100 Singles chart, number eight on the U.S. Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, and number 38 on the U.S. Rock Airplay chart.
The music video for “Magnet” features Lorde, who has an affair with a married. Throughout the video it cuts between shots of the wife and Lorde getting passionate with her husband. In the end, though, it isn’t the wife who exacts revenge. Lorde seemingly teams up with the wife, and kicks the husband, who’s tied to a chair, into a pool that she then sets on fire.
Lorde joins such other artists as Sam Smith, Miguel, and The Weeknd, who lent their vocals to Disclosure’s second album Caracal.
