'Arrow'/'Flash' spinoff 'Legends of Tomorrow' and 'The 100' will take over Thursdays.
The CW is making major moves for midseason.
The network announced Monday that it is shifting The Vampire Diaries and spinoff The Originals to Fridays starting Jan. 29.
Replacing the pair of Julie Plec-produced dramas in their soon-to-be former home on Thursdays come Jan. 21 is Arrow/Flash spinoff Legends of Tomorrow at 8 p.m. and the third season debut of The 100.
The current season of Reign will wrap with its winter finale on Friday, Jan. 22 at 8 p.m. before going on hiatus. (A return date for the royal drama has not yet been determined).
With little room on its bench after ordering additional episodes for Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and iZombie, that leaves Plec's freshman drama Containment still unscheduled.
For Vampire Diaries and The Originals, the move to Fridays comes as NBC has found success with fellow genre play Grimm at 9 p.m.
Here's The CW's midseason schedule:
Thursday, Jan. 21
8 p.m.: Legends of Tomorrow
9 p.m.: The 100
Friday, Jan. 29
8 p.m.: The Vampire Diaries
9 p.m.: The Originals
