Abby Lee Miller pleaded not guilty to fraud on Monday, and posted a $10,000 bond at her arraignment in Pennsylvania.
As Gossip Cop reported, the “Dance Moms” star was indicted in Pittsburgh last month for bankruptcy fraud, and allegedly hiding income and concealing assets. Miller was accused of setting up a hidden bank account to divert more than $755,000 in income after she filed for bankruptcy in 2010. She was hit with 20 counts of fraud, and each carries up to five years in prison as punishment.
Monday marked her first court hearing in the case, and Miller formally entered her not guilty plea. She accepted understanding of the charges against her, and put up a $10,000 bond. She requested a jury trial, and as she remains free until that time, she is barred from leaving the country without permission.
Miller was actually expected to appear in court later this week, but her legal team got the arraignment pushed so she may resume filming “Dance Moms” in Los Angeles as scheduled. Asked for comment as she walked into the courthouse, the reality star reportedly made a comment about her hair, and promoted merchandise available on her website. But asked if she takes the case “seriously,” Miller responded, “Yes.”
