Whoopi Goldberg’s tour bus blew up on Saturday outside the Casino New Brunswick in Moncton, Canada, Gossip Cop confirms with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Fortunately, the comedian, who was performing onstage at the time, was nowhere near harm’s way at the time. Goldberg’s show, however, had to be cut short.

Gossip Cop is told audience members began smelling smoke and were told to evacuate. Immediately, hundreds of people in the crowd, who were there to see Goldberg’s show at the Casino New Brunswick, headed for the exit in an orderly manner. There is no word yet on what caused the tour bus to explode or if anyone from Goldberg’s crew was onboard at the time the vehicle seemingly exploded.

Gossip Cop has reached out to a rep for Goldberg for more details. The comedian and co-host of “The View” has made no mention so far of the incident on her Facebook or Twitter accounts. We will update as soon as more information emerges.
