It’s hard to imagine a world without Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun), but that’s exactly what Rick Grimes and Co. will have to do come next week.

It all went down as Glenn and Nicholas (Michael Traynor) tried to distract a horde of zombies, and ended up backed into an alley with walkers behind and coming at them. The two men jumped up onto a Dumpster and were fending off the zombies when the newly redeemed Nicholas looks out at the sea of walkers and loses it.
After a simple "thank you" to Glenn, who had recently forgiven him for his terrible deeds, Nicholas shot himself in the head. As his body fell off the Dumpster, it brought the compassionate OG down into the swarm -- and turned Maggie into a young widow.

In Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead comic book series, upon which the AMC show is loosely based, Glenn is killed by Negan, the leader of a group called The Saviors, which has not been featured on the show. Many fans had hoped his death would be rewritten since the show has veered off from the comics.

As one of the original Atlanta apocalypse survivors, Glenn teamed up with Rick (Andrew Lincoln) in the pilot episode as they had to make their way through a swathe of walkers undetected.

He met his wife Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan) a short time later, and after she suffered the loss of her father, Hershel (Scott Wilson), and sister, Beth (Emily Kinney), Maggie had only Glenn left.
One thing’s for sure, we will never forget this former pizza delivery man, his bravery, or his heart of gold.
