Meg Ryan has NOT “run back” to ex-boyfriend Russell Crowe, despite a fabricated tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this rumor. We’re told it’s “all made-up.”
According to the National Enquirer, Ryan is seeking comfort from Crowe following her breakup last year with musician John Mellencamp. The actress briefly dated Crowe back in 2000 while the two were working on a movie together. A so-called “source” tells the tabloid, “Russell is looking better to Meg these days, especially with John running around with Christie Brinkley.”
The tabloid’s “insider” goes on to allege that now that Crowe’s divorced, “Russell and Meg turned to each other for emotional support, and that closeness they once had is redeveloping because of it.”
Just last month, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid’s sister publication, Star, when it claimed Ryan experienced an “agonizing downfall” after Mellencamp began dating Brinkley. A source close to Ryan told us at the time that the actress’s relationship with Mellencamp had been “finished for over a year,” making any romance with Brinkley a total non-issue.
Regardless, Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for Ryan about the tabloid’s latest claim that she’s rekindled with Crowe, and we’re exclusively assured the story is “all made-up.”
