Louis Tomlinson and band mate Liam Payne plan to write songs together during One Direction’s year-long hiatus, beginning in March 2016. Tomlinson made the revelation during a recent interview about Made in the A.M., the group’s upcoming fifth album.

Tomlinson told Entertainment Weekly he hopes to “do some writing” during the break, adding, “I enjoy that, with Liam… We definitely will. I’m sure we will.” As for whether the singer is worried about separating from his band mates, with whom he has spent much of the past five years, Tomlinson felt, “I’m sure we’ll all see each other over time. No doubt about that.”

The singer also noted that during the hiatus, he’ll be more focused on charity work than making new music. “Being my age and being able to be in a position where I can help people out and give opportunities to other people is the most exciting thing to me,” he said. “I mean, don’t get me wrong, I do aim to have a couple months’ downtime to see the family, go home, do all that stuff, but yeah, I do hope to be busy, as well.”

Made in the A.M. will be released on November 13. Tell Gossip Cop what you think about Tomlinson’s revelation that he and Payne will still be collaborating while the band is on hiatus.
