Kim Kardashian was NOT told to name her baby boy after Lamar Odom, despite a report that is as convoluted as it is wrong. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct the story. A rep for Kardashian tells us the claim is completely untrue.

Not surprisingly, the erroneous allegation comes from the fabrication factory known as HollywoodLife. On Monday, the webloid ran a so-called “exclusive” alleging that “from his hospital bed,” Odom told Khloe Kardashian “why he thinks ‘Lamar’ would be a perfect name for her soon-to-be-born nephew.” Gossip Cop couldn’t make this stuff up if we tried, but apparently HollywoodLies easily can.

“Lamar told Khloe to tell Kim to name her son Lamar,” a so-called “insider” is quoted as telling the site. “He explained to Khloe that the name symbolizes strength and courage. He also told her that the name is synonymous with being brave and a fighter, just like he is. He was dead serious, too, and he held Khloe’s arm while he told her this.”

The webloid adds that Khloe “told her hubby she would give Kim the message, according to our source, but so far, there’s no details about what Kim and Kanye have to say about the whole thing.” Well, Gossip Cop has those “details” the blog couldn’t provide. And we have the truth, too.

Kardashian will NOT be naming her son “Lamar,” and there was never any kind of conversation with Odom and Khloe about doing so. A rep exclusively tells Gossip Cop the story is entirely “false.” And this is the second Odom-Kardashian tale the site has gotten wrong in as many weeks, after inaccurately claiming the sisters were fighting over whether Scott Disick could visit the hospital.

There’s many words that can be used to describe an outlet that exploits Odom’s health crisis for web clicks, regardless of the truth. Gossip Cop will offer just a few. HollywoodLife is pathetic, shameful, and just sad.
