He was meant for her! Jewel's son, Kase, appears to have inherited his mom's gift for words. The "Hands" singer, 41, told Us Weekly on a recent visit that her little boy -- whom she shares with ex-husband Ty Murray -- has something of an artist's soul.

"My son Kase is 4 years old. He's very creative, very sensitive," the Grammy nominee told Us. "He makes up little songs, he makes up little poems. He's really hysterical, he's very verbal...He's a very poetic little child. Like, the other night, I tucked him in,[and] he's like, 'Mom, where does the wind come from?'"

Jewel reassured him that they'd look it up together the next day. But Kase had his own idea. "He goes, 'I think it's from all the trees and all the world bending,'" she recalled. "It was just a sweet thought."

No doubt he gets at least some of that poetic talent from his singer-songwriter mom. "I wrote him a record called The Merry Goes Round," Jewel told Us of her unique approach to story time. "And it's a bunch of different stories about different animals or not to be afraid of the dark or to read books, things like that."

Speaking of books, the "Who Will Save Your Soul" chanteuse has a new memoir, Never Broken: Songs Are Only Half the Story. She also released an album, Picking Up the Pieces, in September -- and she did it all while doting on her son.
