Dr. Drew doesn’t believe Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom should reconcile if he is to have a successful recovery. Check out the video below.

The famous doctor, of course, hasn’t met with either Kardashian or Odom, but specializes in addiction issues. Like many, he has been following Odom’s troubles from afar, including his current hospitalization following a suspected overdose. He was recently asked for his take on the situation, and offered measured advice and cautious praise for Kardashian’s involvement.

Asked by paparazzi who is to “blame” for Odom’s “situation,” Dr. Drew quickly responds, “Not Khloe. I’m telling you that she did everything. We don’t know what’s going on for real, but it seemed to me she did everything she possibly could. I mean, she, with love in her heart, tried to get him to do treatment, tried to get him to cooperate and do his thing, and when he wasn’t getting better, she finally said, ‘I have to go.'”

“Here’s the issue now,” continues Dr. Drew. “If they reconcile their relationship, that’s not a good thing. The fact that they’re not going through with a divorce is a good thing, because you’re supposed to not change anything the first year after you get sober. But you’re also not supposed to reconcile. Just leave things the same, focus on your recovery, don’t even worry about it.”

Dr. Drew goes on to stress, “So the fact that they aren’t getting divorced is not a bad thing, but if they actually reconcile the relationship, that’s not necessarily a good thing. So hopefully he just focuses on his recovery, and we wish him all the best. That’s it. That’s what he’s gotta focus on for the next year, nothing else.”

Kardashian has not spoken publicly about the decision to call off the divorce, and it’s unclear to what extent she and Odom will resume their relationship. At the very least, for now they remain married with Kardashian overseeing his medical treatment as he continues to be hospitalized. Watch Dr. Drew’s full comments below, and tell us what you think.
