Chris Rock tweeted a joke about Lamar Odom “being the first guy in history to have coke and hookers save his marriage,” and the reviews are mixed. Some fans have responded by noting they laughed, while many others thought it was “too soon” and in bad taste. See Rock’s tweet below.
As Gossip Cop previously reported, Khloe Kardashian has been by Odom’s side ever since he was hospitalized after being found unresponsive in a Nevada brothel, where he had also been doing cocaine. Since then, as Gossip Cop also noted, Kardashian’s lawyer went to court and had her divorce petition dismissed, leaving the reality star and Odom married for the foreseeable future.
Along with Rock’s crack about the former NBA player’s marriage being saved by “coke and hookers,” the upcoming Oscars host added, “Stay strong Lamar.” But it’s the joke that has commenters split on Twitter. While a Twitterer with the handle @MelPeraza tweeted “@chrisrock Hahahaha he got it right!” and another user named @jhelton002 expressed, “you so funny,” there were more people who felt it was in poor taste.
Twitterer madipoopoo wrote, “this tweet truly disappointed me.” And @mschar4 felt it was “Way too soon for this.” An user with the account name @istaywithmymom similarly noted, “@chrisrock too soon man.” “Shame on you, Rock,” tweeted a user named @Amexken.
