Jake Bailey, a Hollywood makeup artist who frequently worked with such stars as Selena Gomez and Katy Perry, was found dead in Los Angeles on Friday from a suspected suicide. He was 37-years-old.
Law enforcement officials are saying Bailey’s assistant called them after finding the stylist unresponsive in his home. After police arrived to the scene, they discovered that Bailey had most likely passed away from carbon monoxide poisoning, but an autopsy will be performed at the L.A. County Coroner’s Office.
Bailey most frequently worked with Perry, having served as the singer’s makeup artist for her Cosmopolitan, Elle and Vogue covers, among many more fashion shoots. He most recently worked with Nina Dobrev for her Nylon cover, Kate Mara for her Elle cover, and Jessica Chastain for her Marie Claire cover.
Additional celebrities who Bailey worked with on various projects included Angelina Jolie, Cameron Diaz, Kristen Stewart, Mariah Carey, Zoe Saldana, Amy Adams, Jessica Alba, Gwen Stefani and many more. Gossip Cop has reached out to Bailey’s rep for comment.
