Clea DuVall is returning to TV.
The actress, known for her roles on Carnivale, Heroes and American Horror Story, has signed on for USA Network's drama pilot Brooklyn Animal Control, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Based on the IDW Publishing comic book of the same name, the project follows a secret subdivision of the NYPD that acts as social services for the city's werewolves. The drama examines the lives of the case officers and the insular werewolf community Kveld-Ulf that lives in secrecy in the borough. Brooklyn will focus on city politics, immigrant communities and families in conflict over ambition and tradition.
DuVall will play Madeleine Holmlund. As the eldest daughter of den mother Vilhelmiina (The Good Wife's Jane Alexander), she is heir apparent to lead her people. However, when challenged for dominance by her uncle Theo (Battlestar Galactica's James Callis), Madeleine is forced to finally immerse herself in the violence underworld politics of the city.
Stephen Graham (Boardwalk Empire) will headline the project.
Brooklyn Animal Control will be written and exec produced by comic book creator J.T. Petty (Splinter Cell). David S. Goyer (Batman v. Superman, DaVinci's Demons) and Circle of Confusion's Rick Jacobs (Spare Parts). David Alpert (The Walking Dead) will exec produce alongside IDW Entertainment's David Ozer and Ted Adams. Brian Kirk (Game of Thrones) will direct the pilot and exec produce. The drama is a co-production between Universal Cable Productions and IDW Entertainment.
Duvall, whose other credits include Better Call Saul, Argo and Zodiac, is repped by Gersh.
