The star of ABC Family's Baby Daddy was seriously injured during a mishap at a Halloween party.

Jean-Luc Bilodeau, the lead of the ABC Family comedy series, accidentally set his DIY Halloween costume — an "alpaca" ensemble that consisted of a lycra suit with cotton balls glued onto it — on fire.

"Baby Daddy star Jean-Luc Bilodeau was in an accident Saturday night at his co-star Tahj Mowry’s home for a Halloween party," Bilodeau's rep said in a statement. "At the party, Jean-Luc’s costume caught on fire when he got too close to an open flame and he suffered burns to his legs and arms. From what we understand, it was no one’s fault and this was merely a freak accident. Per his doctor, he is expected to make a full recovery. While this accident is extremely unfortunate, it serves as a reminder that Halloween costumes and Halloween makeup can be extremely dangerous and flammable. Please exercise precautions this season and be mindful of what you are putting on your body and face."
Production on Baby Daddy's fifth season started Aug. 17. The series was set to be in production this week but that is now being pushed to accommodate Bilodeau's recovery. Next week was a previously scheduled hiatus.

“Jean-Luc Bilodeau, star of ABC Family’s Baby Daddy suffered a non-life-threatening injury on Saturday night. He is expected to make a full recovery. The Baby Daddy production schedule is being rearranged to accommodate him," ABC Family said in a statement.

Baby Daddy was recently picked up for an additional 10 episodes for its fifth season and is slated to return Feb. 3 at 8:30 p.m. It's unclear if the production delay will impact the premiere date.
