'Extant' Sonja Flemming/CBSMore finales fill the lineup as the broadcast networks ready for the fall season.
Big Brother earned Wednesday bragging rights for the broadcast networks, averaging an even 2.1 rating among adults 18-49 and topping all other series for the night.
Lead-out Extant was slightly improved from the prior week, but the sophomore finale of the modestly performing Halle Berry drama was off three-tenths of a point from its season ender last summer. It took a 0.7 rating with adults 18-49 for the night.
NBC kicked off the night with a steady outing of America's Got Talent (1.8 adults) before back-to-back original episodes of The Carmichael Show. Filling the freshman comedy's short six-episode order, both half-hours were down two-tenths of a point from last week's comparable outings with 1.0 and 0.9 ratings in the key demo. Still Carmichael proved a solid addition to the network's late summer shows.
New (and steady) episodes of
MasterChef (1.5 adults) and
Home Free (1.1 adults) filled Fox's two-hour primetime block, while the CW saw
America's Next Top Model (0.6 adults) improve two-tenths of a point before an even episode of
A Wicked Offer (0.2 adults).
