Taylor Swift's squad is a little too square for Rihanna.
In a new interview for NME magazine, the "American Oxygen" songstress said she wouldn’t feel comfortable joining the pop princess on stage because their personas are so wildly different.
Rihanna explained that her sexy image simply doesn't fit alongside Tay's signature wholesomeness, and that their respective fans would likely agree.

"I don't think I would. I just don't think it makes sense," she told the mag of a potential collaboration with the "Shake It Off" singer. "I don't think our brands are the same. I don't think they match, I don't think our audiences are the same."
The 27-year-old went on to say that Taylor's appeal also carries a separate responsibility that she isn't interested in.

"In my mind she's a role model, I'm not," Rihanna said.
The eight-time Grammy winner has come a long way from her "S.O.S." and "Umbrella" days, first branching out into edgier territory with provocative songs like "Rude Boy" and "S&M" from her 2009 album "Rated R."
She hasn’t looked back since.
Her most recent hit, "Bitch Better Have My Money," shows off an even darker side with its graphic, seven-minute video in which a bloodied and vengeful Rihanna tortures a wealthy couple with the help of her no-nonsense henchwomen.

Taylor's "Bad Blood" clip may seem tame in comparison, but the girl-power anthem and her star-studded concerts have been serving the 25-year-old well. Her "1989" album has broken multiple sales records since its November 2014 release.
Rihanna's currently finishing up work on her anticipated eighth studio album. She told NME that the delay will be worth the wait.
"To me it's never done until it's done. Until the final moment," she said.
Rihanna's full interview hits newsstands on Sept. 18.
