New ‘Daily Show’ Host Trevor Noah to Appear on ‘Late Show With Stephen Colbert’

The new host of The Daily Show will sit down with one of the show's most famous contributors when he visits the Late Show With Stephen Colbert Thursday, CBS has announced.

Noah's last-minute addition to Colbert's star-studded week two lineup is to replace actress Naomi Watts, who was originally set for the Sept. 17 broadcast. Noah joins United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon and musical performer Chris Stapleton.

This is one of Noah's first late-night gigs as he prepares to take over Jon Stewart's desk on Sept. 28. He visited the Late Late Show With James Corden and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in July. He made his first appearance on the Late Show back in 2013.

Stewart, coincidentally, is also an executive producer on the Late Show.

Colbert and Noah both appeared on Stewart's farewell Daily Show telecast in August, but at different segments during the show. Noah joined The Daily Show as a contributor in 2014, nine years after Colbert left for The Colbert Report.

The Late Show airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on CBS.
